CharacteristicsEdit
The assault carbine is a magazine-fed, compact automatic weapon with a high rate of fire and a comparatively low spread. It is one of the most accurate automatic weapons in the game, and can be effectively used in close and medium range combat. In V.A.T.S. mode, it will shoot a 5 round burst for a cost of 20 Action Points.
The assault carbine uses 5mm rounds, boasting an armor piercing effect of -10 DT, and 5mm AP rounds, which have a -25 DT effect. These make the weapon highly effective against medium armored or heavily armored targets, as only power armor possesses more than 25 DT. In addition, 5mm HP rounds have only a x2 DT multiplier, compared to the x3 multiplier of other HP rounds. (All effects as of patch 1.3.0.452). 5mm ammunition is available in large quantities, however the assault carbine suffers from a low base damage of 13, the second lowest of any rifle in the game.
The assault carbine can be equipped with an extended magazine, identical to that used on the regular marksman carbine except with a black rather than aluminum finish.
DurabilityEdit
The assault carbine can fire a total of about 3,745 standard rounds, the equivalent of 157 reloads, or 125 reloads when modified with extended magazines, from full condition before breaking.

- Nellis Air Force Base - in the Nellis array, on a dead Boomer.
- NCR Ranger safehouse - located on a shelf to the right of the reloading bench.
- Super mutants, specifically super mutant brutes at Black Mountain, may carry this weapon.
- One is also carried by Nero in the Gomorrah casino, and can be taken after helping Cachino in the quest How Little We Know.
- One can be found inside Gomorrah, in the basement, inside one of the footlockers.
- One is found on the respawning corpse of a super mutant brute in the water of the lowest level of Ruby Hill Mine.
- May be found on one of the nightkin in Black Rock cave.
- During Unfriendly Persuasion, the mercenary Norton will carry one.
- Can be found on some NCR Veteran Rangers later in the game.
- The arms merchant at the 188 trading post occasionally sells them in average condition.
- If the player character is Vilified by the Legion, assassins will be sent to kill them. One of the Legionary assassins may carry an assault carbine.
- Daniel Contreras will have 2-3 in stock sometimes.
NotesEdit
- The assault carbine sports a very compact size compared to the R91 assault rifle, which was the United States' primary combat rifle before the Great War.
- It has a similar look to the service rifle, although it has a shorter barrel, ergonomic handgrips, matte black furniture and a collapsible stock instead of a fixed wooden one.
Behind the scenesEdit
According to J.E. Sawyer, both the assault carbine and the marksman carbine are present due to New Vegas' proximity to Nellis AFB, since they were both modeled after a 'paratrooper-oriented marksman rifle.'[1]

In this post, we’ll take a look at some of the best Sniper Rifle mods that currently exist for Fallout 4. All but one of these mods are available for both PC and Xbox One. Unfortunately, getting new items into the game is a much more difficult task on the PS4, with it being unlucky when it comes to the Fallout 4 modding scene.
Using Sniper Rifle’s is by far one of the most satisfying and rewarding activities and game styles for the Fallout franchise. It’s only important that you enhance this experience by adding some community made weapons!
If you liked this type of content, you may also wish to check out our Top Survival mods for Fallout 4 here.
DB Snipers
The DB Snipers mod adds a stand alone rifle to the game. It has a lot of customisation options, and has two ways of acquiring it. Included with the mod is a cryptic message on where to find the rifle in game. “Through the tunnels, past the severed heads, behind the oils you’ll find the worlds desires”. However you can also just buy it in Diamond City if you really want. Ammunition can also be crafted in the chemistry lab for it.
Dragunov
The Dragunov Sniper Rifle is another great addition to the Fallout 4 world, with the developer being inspired by S.T.A.L.K.E.R. It stomisation with multiple stocks, suppressor, scopes and new ammunition. This rifle will drop from raiders, and there are also some vendors that will sell it. Xbox One players can grab it here.
The Bozar
You may know The Bozar from Fallout New Vegas. It’s an automatic sniper rifle that came with Gun Runners Arsenal. One modder has recreated this rifle into the Fallout 4 Universe. It can be modified, and can use both .308 and 5.56 rounds. The gun will drop from some enemies and it’s in the levelled list. So good luck finding one! Download it for Xbox One.
Jan 10, 2019 - 1) What jacks should I use to connect the mixer to my sound system? Connect each mic to the stage box (snake). Connect each snake XLR connector to each mic input XLR connector. Connect the mixer master or main output to your graphic equalizer input, and connect the graphic output to your house power-amp input. I have a mackie sr32-4 and I also have a DBX - 231 EQ. I take a 1/4 cable and plug the input of the EQ to the aux send 2 of the board, and Im not sure where the output goes because the aux returns are all stereo. If you want to use an insert device with a single sound source, use. Online equalizer mixer.
Mosin Nagant
The Mosin Nagant is another great looking rifle, accompanied by custom animations and sounds. It uses .308 ammunition like most rifles. Mosin Nagant also hosts iron sights, suppressor, bayonet, quad bayonet, suppressor, 3 barrels and 2 types of bolt, curved and straight. Again, you’ll start seeing this weapon show up in your game world at around level 25. It’s also up on Bethesda.net for console.
DKS-501 Sniper Rifle
The DKS-501 Sniper Rifle is the best looking sniper rifle mod I have seen. It has a great mesh with some very high resolution textures. Along with that, it has it’s own animations and the developer is constantly making improvements. DKS-501 is fully customisable, with lots of different designs and options at a weapons workbench. Balancing issues aren’t a problem either, as it won’t show up until around Level 25, and the quality of the gun will scale to your level. Grab it for Xbox One here.

Models[edit | edit source]
Battle rifle[edit | edit source]
Fallout: New Vegas, Gun Runners' Arsenal
The battle rifle is a gas-operated, semi-automatic, clip-fed rifle chambered for the .308 round. In terms of operation, it is a relic of 20th century engineering, utilizing an 'en bloc' clip system that allows ammunition to be inserted from above, clip included, into the fixed internal magazine. When all eight rounds are expended, the clip is ejected with a very distinct metallic 'ping'. Despite the archaic loading method, the combination of powerful rounds and semi-automatic fire makes it a viable choice for a post-nuclear combatant.

Combat rifle[edit | edit source]
Fallout 4, Fallout 76
The combat rifle is a practical weapon created by rechambering the mass-produced, rugged combat shotgun for rifle rounds. The amount of changes was minimal, limited to removing the heat shroud and modifying the receiver. Everything else was left in place, including the original magazine well with the drum mount. Despite that, the resulting rifle was as cheap, effective, and popular as the combat shotgun, in no small part due to the vast catalog of modifications it shared with the combat shotgun, allowing for in-depth customization. These included various optics, ranging from simple iron sight rings, through reflex sights, to night vision and recon scopes, bayonets and compensators, as well as adjustable, pistol-grip tactical stocks from lightweight alloys.[1]

FN FAL[edit | edit source]
Fallout 2, Fallout Tactics, Van Buren
The Fusil Automatique Léger ('Light Automatic Rifle' or FAL, nicknamed 'The right arm of the Free World') is a self-loading, selective fire battle rifle with wooden furniture created in 1947 by the Fabrique Nationale de Herstal (FN).[2]
It operates by means of a gas-operated action. The gas system is driven by a short-stroke, spring-loaded piston housed above the barrel, and the locking mechanism is what is known as a tilting breechblock.[2] It uses 7.62mm ammunition with a 20-round magazine.[3] During the Cold War, it was adopted by many NATO countries[2] and it has been more widely used by armed forces than any other rifle in history. It's a reliable assault weapon for any terrain or tactical situation.[4]

Marksman carbine[edit | edit source]
Filling in the gap between regular assault rifles and sniper rifles, the marksman rifle is designed for infantrymen deployed in the designated marksman role. It is built on the assault carbine platform, as an air-cooled, gas-operated rifle, with a rotating bolt, actuated by direct impingement gas operation. However, to better fit its tactical role, it is optimized for accuracy, rather than rate of fire. It features a precision adjustable stock, a tactical rail accessory system in place of the top receiver, typically with a 2.86x telescopic sight mounted on top, and fires in semi-automatic mode only, from a 20-round 5.56mm round magazine.

Service rifle[edit | edit source]
The New California Republic service rifle is a lightweight, air-cooled, magazine-fed, gas-operated rifle that uses the direct impingement gas principle with a rotary bolt locking mechanism.[5] It is typically loaded with 20 5.56mm rounds per magazine, giving NCR troopers good firepower in the field, despite the absence of automatic firing modes. The key here is its conventional layout, with excellent ergonomics, gas operation, and straight recoil combining to create a very accurate rifle, even in the hands of untrained conscripts. As a bonus, the full wood-and-metal rifle can be easily broken down for cleaning or replaced with a new unit manufactured by the Gun Runners.[6]

M-14[edit | edit source]
Skyrim Se Nexus
The following is based on Fallout Tactics and some details might contradict canon. |
The M-14 is a selective-fire, gas-operated automatic rifle created in 1954 by Springfield Armory. It fires .303 and utilizes a 20-round magazine. The gas system features an automatic gas cutoff feature, which limits the amount of gases used to operate the weapon. The rotating bolt has a roller instead of the simple lug, which connects the bolt to the operating rod. The M-14 succeeded the M1 Garand as the standard US Army rifle from 1959 to 1970, until replaced by the M16A1. It is a reliable weapon offering high lethality, long range and good penetration.
M1 Garand[edit | edit source]
The following is based on Fallout Tactics and some details might contradict canon. |
The M1 Garand, surnamed 'the greatest battle implement ever devised', was created in 1936 by John Cantius Garand and was the first semi-automatic rifle to be generally issued into the U.S. Army. It's a gas-operated, semi-automatic, clip-fed rifle using a clip of 8 cartridges caliber .30-06. It provides good accuracy up to 100 m and begins to declined sharply from 300 m. It has a respectable rate of fire and it's also easy to disassemble and clean.
